Can wearing a hat thin your hair?

I was wondering about men who always wear hats. All of them have thinning hair, but they dont wear the hats because their hair is thinning, its just a habit. Does wearing a hat all the time thin out your hair? Do the hair folicles get hot and stop working as well, like they are suffocating?

Hair is not a plant it doesn't need sun to grow.

The only way a hat will cause loss of hair is if it is constantly worn.

The rubbing of the hat on the front and back can wear the hair thin like on the insides of your thighs. Hats worn less frequently and not too tightly should not cause a problem.

Okay soo i have really thin hair ( thanks mom) and i feel that getting it cut short short makes it seem fuller but my friends think that i should let it grow long. Problem is when my hair is long it gets oily really really easly. Should i keep it short or be daring and go long?

Dont go out and buy anything expensive.

First: Purchase a mild Shampoo (To Clarify hair, I will explain why)

Second: TRIM your hair ends (May 1 1/2 to 2 inches)

Third: Here's the magic part: Mix olive oil, almond oil, coconut oil, avocado oil and a "little" honey, (honey u will have to heat so it can blend). Either leave on ALL day or all night (if all nite, DONT use honey)

Use a teaspoon of every oil and honey,.... a little more if ur hair is long or a little less if ur hair is short

Repeat this 3-4 times a week, your hair will grow like a weed, fortify, reconstruct, moisturize, soften %26amp; remove all frizz I promise,..... and it will be super shiny!!!!

The clairifying shampoo will help take the oil off your hair when u shower

You can also use a conditioner but get a light conditioner that wont wiegh ur hair down, becuz u can over condition, I use herbl essences "clean happy" conditioner.

When I do this at nite, I wake up, shampoo %26amp; condition, rinse and style as usual. Has worked for years

You can find olive oil anywere, but the other oils you will have to buy at a local organics store, wholes foods or BJ's health corner.

i think u should grow it long. atleast till little bit below shoulder. that would be fine not tooo long not tooo short.

I feel you pain hun! I'm on the same boat, well I day keep it short, whne mine grows long it looks even thinner, and I have to wash it everyday! If you wanna grow your hair long, get side bangs it will make it look voluminous on top and you can stil have your hair be long!

Hey my hair is thin too.

I think you could go either way. As long as you get trims so that the hair grows out healthy. (Healthiness seems to add a nice fullness at the bottom.)

If you want to go really long though I would also avoid a really long blunt cut. The hair tends to gets so weighed down and just looks limp. Cutting layers for movement should help it look fuller too.

you should totally go medium my friend has really really thin hair and she used to have it down to her buttie almost so she cut it not to her shoulders well a little past it like an inch past the shoulders and she still can wear a pony tail and do whatever she wants with her hair so try that and if thats not you sorry!

A Beautician once told me thin hair should be worn short and thick hair long. I have baby fine and thin hair. I wear it short and layered. It helps to make your hair look thicker. Hope this helps.

You should get it cut short into a cute cut b/c it will look fuller. If your hair is long and one length you will make yourself look older and (hate to say it) like a sick person. Very unattractive. People think having long hair is the only way to go but not true. Short hair makes you look more sophisticated and also exotic.
