Longer thin hair...any tips on styling??

My hair is very thin, and it never wants to stay curled or done... Even when I get out of the shower and towel dry it, and comb it, it won't even stay straight, it gets waves(or creases as I call it) when I stick it behind my ears or pull it in a pony tail. Is there any way (besides getting more hair) to make my hair fuller? And are there any good styling suggestions? I've been thinking of getting it cut.

Longer thin hair...any tips on styling??

I have the same type of hair. My hairstylist always recommends that I cut it short. (about shoulder length is as far as I go I'm not crazy about short hair either) because it makes the hair lighter and fuller looking. For hairstyles that depends on the shape of your face. I always tend to go for the Jessica Alba, or on a recent cover of a magazine Jessica Beil cut. The hair is about shoulder length and not to much of a curl since its hard to keep the curl in but a nice wave in it.

Thin hair thick?

I have super thin hair and I hate it because I love to curl it and it gets damaged SUPER easily. Is there any [inexpensive] was to make it thick. I don't want it to LOOk thicker, I WANT it thicker. Any products will work. And hair extensions are waayyyyyyy too epensive. Any answers?

Thin hair thick?

If you have a Sally's Beauty Supply nearby, go check out their line of NutriOx products. I started using NutriOx a couple months ago and my hair looks and feels WAY thicker and healthier.

Thin hair thick?

You want an esy answer to an unsolvable question.Products won't actually make you grow more hair follicles which is what it takes to have THICKER hair.

Thin hair thick?

i have the same hair, except not really thin. I heard you can take prenatal pills (they dont make you get pregnant just help make your body tsrong for the baby.) Im really thinking of does this. give it shot.

Extensions

Thin hair thick?

Protein conditioners give the illusion of thicker hair. And no, you can't biologically make it thicker. The most you can do is style with fuller body or get the extensions you can't afford.

Thin hair thick?

First of all, you'll want to use products to help it keep from getting damaged as you said it damages easily. Your hair is your hair, thick or thin. It's how you take care of what your mama gave you. You can use products that makes it seem thicker. I've seen them on shelves at stores. Curling it can make it appear fuller and probably feel fuller too. If you blow dry your hair, use a little mousse, turn your head upside down and blow fullness into it and leave it in that kind of natural wind blown look, and fluff it with your fingers. If you like the straight look, let it dry naturally and gently straighten it. Also, try the B vitamins, B6, B12 and B Complex. Good luck.

If you are looking for a hair loss treatment that actually works, reading reviews online is a good first step. But take everything you read with a grain of salt. It is good to be wary and to not just believe marketing hype and slick graphics that make claims to work without any scientific proof to back it up. Trusting your source is critical, since there are many fake reviews out there made by the sellers of various products to try to convince you to fork over your cash.

Dr. William Rassman, Medical Director and Founder of the New Hair Institute, says, "I only know for sure that finasteride, dutasteride, and minoxidil work [to stop hair loss] (though only finasteride and minoxidil are FDA approved for treating hair loss 閳?dutasteride is in clinical trials). [Unfortunately,] Dutasteride may produce even more side effects than finasteride (Propecia)..." (August 6, 2007).

Since finasteride and minoxidil are the only two FDA approved treatments to stop hair loss, there are not that many hair loss treatments on the market that actually work. To make matters even worse, finasteride (the ingredient used in Popecia) can cause several side effects that results in the body not being able to tolerate it. Once the person is forced off Propecia (finasteride) due to its negative side effects, hair loss begins to occur again rapidly. With this in mind, it appears that hair loss treatments containing minoxidil are the best bet when it comes to deciding on which hair loss treatment to use.

Thin hair and hair loss?

I have had very thin hair all my life (which hasn't been long). I am starting to bald in the back of my head. As a young woman, this is very embarrassing, not to mention what it does to my self esteem. What can I do to help this?

Thin hair and hair loss?

You might have what they call aloepsia. That's where you have bald patches or your hair falls out in spotty areas. That can be caused by stress, a bacteria in the follicle, a skin condition. or a vitamin deficiency. It's best to go to your Dr. and he can tell you if you have any of these symptoms. He can test you and give you the medication or medicated shampoo to help with your hair. Don't pull your hair in a pony tail either. It will cause breakage and make your hair look thinner.

Thin hair and hair loss?

You could start by checking with your doctor to see if there are any underlying conditions that might cause the hair loss. Sometimes hypothyroidism causes hair loss, a simple blood check can determing the levels of TSH and whether you are a candidate for treatment.

Heredity might have something to do with your hairloss too.

My mother in law is using rogaine for women with great success, but the only problem that I see in that is that you have to continue using rogaine, you can't quit.

I'm 40, and I feel very lucky to have a full head of hair still, so I don't know what you're going through, but I can tell you that there are options available to you.

You should start with your doctor first. Share your concerns.

Good luck!

Thin hair and hair loss?

see lf you can find a hair specialist cause lm having the same problem to and l have an overactive thyroid.

Thin hair and hair loss?

Get it checked with your doctor. About 50 to 100 milligrams a day of vitamin B6 taken for one or two months helps decrease hair fall. A medicine rich in sulfur is also recommended as sulfur plays an important part in the structure of the hair. Check out http://usefulinfo-hairloss.blogspot.com/ for more info.

I have thin hair. Ways to make it appear/be thick?

I have a naturally oily scalp, and so i need to wash my hair every day. My hair doens't dry nicely naturally, which means i blow dry it everday aswell. I'm worried that because i have naturally thin hair, it will start falling out. Anyone have any suggestions?

no stupid answers please.

Also, is there anyway i can make my hair appear thicker, or actally make it thicker?

I have thin hair. Ways to make it appear/be thick?

For a naturally oily scalp. Try drinking lots of milk and eating lots of protine like fruit and vegetable and sea food. This will also help your hair grow faster and help you grow more hair. If your hair is reallly thin you take a shower, blow dry it, straighten it(optional), take a comb and tease the hair, then after you tease it push down on it with your hand a little so its not so frizzy and all over the place, then add a little hair spray it.

I have thin hair. Ways to make it appear/be thick?

I had the same problem as you... but i ate more fish and drank lots of milk... it really helped and my hair is thick... too thick i guess and i dnt really like it but i have to deal with it lol

[= hope i helped

I have thin hair. Ways to make it appear/be thick?

im pretty sure i have like the exact kind of hair as you.you could try putting mousse or gel in it before blow drying and it usually makes it more bouncy.

I have thin hair. Ways to make it appear/be thick?

first of all use a hot oil treatment 2 a month, i too have thin hair, ever heard of a crimping iron? this will give you lots of body or you could braid it as well, limit hair products, i don't use gel or mousse, just hair spray, i tried scalp med it's crap don't waste your money, you could also use tracks which are hair pieces, finally keep it trimmed up .

I have thin hair. Ways to make it appear/be thick?

UM

Try to like round brush it i have extremely thick hair but just kind of fluff it out or wear it up and put like a headband or clip in. Have fun w/ it.

I have thin hair. Ways to make it appear/be thick?

what the first girl said was right, eat healthy. also if you want to make it seem thicker try teasing it. which is backward brushing. that really helps. and if you can get new shampoo that gives you strong hair. good luck!!!

I have thin hair. Ways to make it appear/be thick?

take prenatal vitamans

I have thin hair. Ways to make it appear/be thick?

I'm assuming that you use shampoo that makes the hair thicker. I knew someone once (woman) with such thin hair that she always wore a wig. She started going to a hair stylist who cut her hair so that it appeared thicker and she was able to stop wearing wigs. I think your best bet is to go to a good hair stylist and discuss the problem with him/her. They can not only cut it well but also provide you with products.

I have thin hair. Ways to make it appear/be thick?

u need 2 use some desi ways. Mix 250gm of curd with a little of lemon %26amp; an amla. Apply it daily on ur hairs in morning. Amla is the richest source of vit.C in nature. Stop using soaps %26amp; shampoos.

My Hair is Thin...?

My hair is very flat and thin.... How can i volumize it? is there any good shampoo's or anything?

My Hair is Thin...?

Try the Nioxin line - it thickens the hair you have and treats your scalp so that your hair can grow thicker. As for styling, try the Rusk thickening spray and blow dry your hair upside down.

My Hair is Thin...?

Go to the beauty shop they have many things , they can help you, my hair is straight and thin, but i would like to have some curl, i am going for a perm. A perm for body, frosting or a total bleach job, also adds body, use moose or root lifters. Even go to a beauty supply store, they could probably give you some hints.

My Hair is Thin...?

Get layers up to your ears.

%26amp; shampoos won't work.

Try teasing it.

If you don't know how to tease.

look up.

" how to tease hair " on youtube.

Thin hair layered?

i have very thin hair and i want to know if it would be possible to get it layered. my hair is also very flat and strait.

-thanks

Thin hair layered?

yes, layering it will make it look a bit thicker too, and give a bit of shape

Thin hair layered?

Sure thats a good thing because it will create some volume , try some hilites too becuase the ligther color make it look like more hair and the chemical will create some frizzynes(not much dont be scared) that you can use for volume. Dont forget the volumizing shampoo

Thin hair layered?

getting it layered would give it more body

Thin hair layered?

From what I've seen, getting it layered does work, and it will make your hair look fuller (and generally a lot more flattering). But it does depend on where you live, because if you live in a very humid or dry area, your hair might look frizzier.

Thin hair layered?

You actually should get it layered. it will add texture and give the illusion of thickness.

Thin hair layered?

I've got the same kind of hair, and layering works very well for me. I kept it long for a while, but fairly short and feathered (continuous layers) works best with my fine, straight hair.

Thin hair layered?

first get a pic of u so we can picture you will layers and we can c if it looks good on you AND TRY TO GET A PERM IT WILL MAKE YOUR HAIR FULLER BECAUSE ITS CURLY OR WAVY!

Thin hair layered?

I have fine layer straight hair, I use this heat activated foam and it makes my hair look thicker and have some stlye

Thin hair layered?

I do too. If it is long, layering will make it even thinner. Remember layers take hair away! Short and layered works somehow.

Really Thin Hair????

I used to have thick hair on my head and in this past month, it has become really thin due to lots of hair loss.

What's causing this? How can I stop it? Will my hair grow back?

Really Thin Hair????

Medications can make your hair come out --disease can also make it come out- If you are stressed out about something that can cause it to fall out also. Normally you should lose 150 hairs per day and they do replace themselves. If you have something wrong in your body this may not happen-- I would suggest you see dermatologist and they can check and find the reason for your hair loss- Eat a good diet with lots of protein and take a good multiple vitamin every day. Trying to be too thin and not eating properly affects your hair and causes it to fall out. Your body is like a car--It has to have the right food like a car has to have the right fuel to make it operate properly--so feed your body the right nutrients and I bet your hair comes back.

Really Thin Hair????

how old are u?

Really Thin Hair????

maybe its due to alot of stress?

Really Thin Hair????

i like your avatar. haha

well my sister had a lot of hair loss because when she took showers, she rubbed conditioner into her roots . they say that you're only supposed to rub the ends. once she did that it pretty much went away.

um i hope that was it =]

Really Thin Hair????

Do you color your hair lots? Well it's probably that.

Really Thin Hair????

Okay I have the same problem, and I've talked to doctors and other professionals

here are the causes

-stress

-not eating properly

-not enough proteine

-natural shedding

i've heard that you can take folic acid tablets, however I'm unaware of their side effects, and until I am, I'd rather not take them.

Really Thin Hair????

Maybe it the hair loss is caused by stress or by some medication you are taking. It could also be a sign that you may be sick. Perhaps you should see a doctor about it.

Really Thin Hair????

do you straughten your hair?

Really Thin Hair????

maybe if you changed a hair product or like the above stress have you dyed your hair? that could be something too ....
