Can wearing a hat thin your hair?

I was wondering about men who always wear hats. All of them have thinning hair, but they dont wear the hats because their hair is thinning, its just a habit. Does wearing a hat all the time thin out your hair? Do the hair folicles get hot and stop working as well, like they are suffocating?

Hair is not a plant it doesn't need sun to grow.

The only way a hat will cause loss of hair is if it is constantly worn.

The rubbing of the hat on the front and back can wear the hair thin like on the insides of your thighs. Hats worn less frequently and not too tightly should not cause a problem.

There is no proven scientific explanation that links thinning hair to wearing of hats. Thin hairs are due to hereditary factors, that affects more men than women. Hats are related to thinning hair because most men who got thinning hair cover up this by using hats.
