Thin hair and hair loss?

I have had very thin hair all my life (which hasn't been long). I am starting to bald in the back of my head. As a young woman, this is very embarrassing, not to mention what it does to my self esteem. What can I do to help this?

You might have what they call aloepsia. That's where you have bald patches or your hair falls out in spotty areas. That can be caused by stress, a bacteria in the follicle, a skin condition. or a vitamin deficiency. It's best to go to your Dr. and he can tell you if you have any of these symptoms. He can test you and give you the medication or medicated shampoo to help with your hair. Don't pull your hair in a pony tail either. It will cause breakage and make your hair look thinner.

You could start by checking with your doctor to see if there are any underlying conditions that might cause the hair loss. Sometimes hypothyroidism causes hair loss, a simple blood check can determing the levels of TSH and whether you are a candidate for treatment.

Heredity might have something to do with your hairloss too.

My mother in law is using rogaine for women with great success, but the only problem that I see in that is that you have to continue using rogaine, you can't quit.

I'm 40, and I feel very lucky to have a full head of hair still, so I don't know what you're going through, but I can tell you that there are options available to you.

You should start with your doctor first. Share your concerns.

Good luck!

Get it checked with your doctor. About 50 to 100 milligrams a day of vitamin B6 taken for one or two months helps decrease hair fall. A medicine rich in sulfur is also recommended as sulfur plays an important part in the structure of the hair. Check out http://usefulinfo-hairloss.blogspot.com/ for more info.
