Best hair products for my thin, limp hair in need...? Read inside.?

I have shoulder-length, dark brown hair that is layered, with side bangs. I never straighten my hair, it's naturally straight. The problem is my hair is so dang THIN. I swear. It has body right after I blow dry (with a round brush, best tool EVER)... but I wake up the next morning with hair like limp noodles again. :(

What products have you tried that have worked to give you body... and control frizz? Don't even say Herbal Essences, I don't like their stuff. And, what types of hairstyles can I do to my thin hair that will actually stay IN? I try curling it, but it usually goes straight again. Again, the thinness. Anyone know how I can get my hair curly to stay? Please and thanks a TON. =)

To get extra volume, while your hair is still a bit damp, apply volumizing mousse at your roots and some anti-frizz serum to the ends only and bend over and hold your head own and point your blow dryer up as you dry for lots of overall volume. For an added kick, hold a section of your hair up and use a volumizing aerosol hairspray and briefly spray the front and back of that section, and continue holding your hair up for about 15 seconds or so and repeat the process with the rest of your hair. I really like got2b's 2 sexy volumizing hairspray best. If your hair is still frizzy, apply some more anti-frizz serum to the ends only, otherwise it will weigh your hair down if it's on the roots.

Also... you're not having trouble curling your hair because it's thin, you're having trouble because it's naturally straight. My hair is naturally wavy/curly and if I straighten it, it starts getting wavy again after a short period of time or after ANY contact with moisture. I find most people with naturally stick-straight hair have a very hard time to get a curl to last... so you're not alone. But if you do curl, apply some ultra-hold hairspray to the hair immediately after curling.

use aussie it really works and use a diffuser. It's a huge thing that looks like a wide cup and have these finger like points sticking out of them. Just flip your head over and use the finger-like points to slide down your hair like a comb. Then flip it back over and use a styling spray. It works trust me.

Damn ... lol... sounds as if you were describing my hair. I have the same problem. I've controlled my frizz and have been able to boost my hair a BIT... not much but I do find that it has also strengthened my hair and got rid of all the unhealthy stuff as well. I've been using the: L'OREAL -VIVE PRO Shampoo (for dry, frizzy hair that's fine) I also use the conditioner. I find it helps alot. BUT I do get bad STATIC-ky hair... so I solve that prob by using: Garnier Fructis Style - Smoothing Milk (Instant Smoothing %26amp; Frizz Control) ... and if i'm on the run like in my car or something I use lotion... just for the moment it helps alot!! Don't overload just dab it in ur hand and lightly go over ur hair and it helps. :P... ENJOY! Good LUCK!!!!

*** OH OH... also for VOLUME you can have your hairstylist cut ur hair to it... Mine I guess she cut my hair shorter in between my layers (my hair is a lil longer than shoulder length and I DO NOT see the smaller layers between.... it's just adds that OOMMMPPHH u need. ) so talk to him/her about it and they can tell you the best solution!

** I keep thinking of things after I finish Ugh... lol. Umm when I would attempt to CRIMP my hair it seems to give more volume to it... then I think to myself that i dont' like the style and I re-straighten it... I guess it gives it volume? just a bit.

*** Today I went for a hair cut. The hairdresser used a Round brush (brush that has bristles all the way around) and wrapped my hair in it all the way up to my scalp, blow-dryed it so the heat would "ACTIVATE" it (it was already dry) and then left it there for a lil bit. THIS adds VOLUME!!

A body wave with very gentle perm solution is the best help. Also don't layer the ends of your hair around the bottom keep that thick but have someone layer only the very top of your hair to give it a lift but blend it on down your hair. From the middle of the length of your hair it needs to be more one length. Conditioners will cause your hair to not hold the style as well. Use gel. p.s. when your hair is slightly layered like that--they are blended so well that your hair still looks like it is all one length

I have the same problem. I find that putting foils of blonde or even highlights will give your hair body. If it is fairly long, try some razoring to give your hair some texture. Light layers and definitly keep it above your shoulders. I use suave shampoo, for normal hair and it gives my limp hair body and infusium conditioner on the ends. It doesn't weigh your hair down and it makes if feel really healthy, managable and shiny. Trust me on the blonde though. You don't need much, but some subtle highlights will make a world of difference. Oh and wash your hair with your head upside down, like in a sink or the tub. Wrap your towel around your hair and leave it for 10 minutes while you get ready and then pull out your hair to dry it. Also dry your hair with you head upside down. You might be a little light-headed when your done but your hair will be the bomb.lol Good Luck

As someone with long (almost to my rear), thin but-lots-of-it hair, I find the that layering and thinning with a razor by a stylist helps tremendously. It sounds like you're halfway there. I love volume and curl both, but using a curling iron alone does not give me the results I'm looking for...so I will curl a portion of my hair, then immediately put a roller it, letting it set for a few minutes. It gives me lots of oomph without the tell-tale lines around my head from wearing rollers all night. A little mousse helps, but I usually don't go over-board, as it end up making my hair greasy and limp in the long run. I think the less product you use on your hair, the better.
