If your hair is thin get it cut in a style where it is layered.

They do this usually with a razor.

Also use productions like root lifter to give more volume.

Well they use thinning scissors (I know, they do it all the time with me because I have thick hair), they just sort of put them into your hair, close the blades, then gently slide the scissors up and down and then that section hair is thinner (the scissors don't remove the actual length of your hair)
